3. Data collection on our website

Cookies

The websites partly use cookies. Cookies will not damage your computer in any way and do not contain any viruses. Cookies are used to make our Internet sites more user-friendly, more effective, and more secure. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

The majority of the cookies we use are session cookies. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies are stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser next time you visit our site.

However, you can set your browser to inform you when cookies are to be used and allow you to decide on their use in each case, accept cookies only in certain instances, or exclude them in general; you can also activate the function that automatically deletes the cookies when you close the browser. Deactivating cookies may restrict the functionality of this website.

Cookies required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide specific functions you requested (e.g. shopping cart function) are stored on the basis of art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for the analysis of surfing behavior) are stored, these are dealt with separately in this Privacy Policy.

Server log files

The website provider collects and automatically saves information in server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the requesting computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data will not be collated with other data sources.

The basis for data processing is art. 6(1)(B) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Contact form

If you send us requests via the contact form, the information you provide in the request form, including the contact data you enter there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the request and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

The data entered in the contact form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal message by email. The legality of the data processing procedures carried out until revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you send to us in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions—in particular retention periods—remain unaffected.

4. Analysis tools and advertising

Matomo (formerly Piwik)

This website uses the open source web analytics service Matomo. Matomo uses technologies that enable the user to be recognized across sites for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Matomo about the use of this website is saved on our server. The IP address is anonymized before saving.

Matomo enables us to collect and analyze data about the use of our website by visitors to our website. This allows us to find out, for example, when and from which region visitors view our website. We also collect various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer, browsers and operating systems used) and can measure whether our website visitors perform certain actions (e.g. clicks, purchases, etc.).

These analysis tools are used on the basis of art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymous analysis of user habits to optimize both its website and its advertising. If a corresponding consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), the processing is based exclusively on art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

IP anonymization

When analyzing with Matomo, we apply IP anonymization. This involves truncating your IP address prior to analysis so that it cannot be unequivocally assigned to you.

Hosting

We only host Matomo on our own servers which means that all analytical data remain with us and are not passed on.

You have the option to prevent actions you take here from being analyzed and linked. This will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and improving the usability for you and other users.
